I don't remember the last time I spent the whole day in bed. And didn't feel guilty.
So after completing my drypoints and type experiments and spending a hideous number of hours on the train, I wanted to collate everything in a form other than a book.
I've had a super gimmicky overhaul; an entire Commuter's Essential Travelling Kit.
Pictures to follow. I now having sewing skills.

Which then moved to gimmick:

(Copyright: Ashley Allen) Much better.
I then took part in the Arts Market at my uni, selling a batch of these travelcard cushions. They all sold, which was sweeet.
And Kyle lovingly name-dropped me on his website:

A noteworthy photo:

I am now working on a new project, about music and how raw and precious it can be. I've been using a dictaphone to collect research about peoples' 'special songs', which is both funny and nerve-wracking - some of the responses are amazing. However, I did have some mad woman following me down Guildford high street telling me I was infringing peoples' rights and unethical and should be getting people to sign forms. How about, you're infringing my rights to explore something I feel passionate about, and share some intimacy with strangers. Now shove off.
I've been looking at some great work for inspiration. It's a chance to find some new work, as well as revisit these old gems...
I've been working with fibreglass. The smell is lushhh.
I've been growing more seeds - I'm about to plant some black Poppies and Aquilegia! Oh yes.
And, I've got some grey Toms on the way. My feet are excited.
I went to Liberty's and Selfridges for some inspiration for my horticulture installation:
I love the Mulberry bags amongst the crisps. Nothing like mix the high and low.
It also reminded me how much I'd love to get my paws on a Paul's Boutique bag -

I love these:

They're like a guilty pleasure...and Iron Fist do a zombie bikini. Awesome.
Oh, and guess what? I've enjoyed my first bit of Gaga action - gasp! Despite gagging on the product placement, I think the Telephone video is great. Cause I can actually see some Warhol in there, and I can see Miles Aldridge saturated colours, and I can see some La Chapelle and I really want that telephone headgear! Beyonce looks amazing, and made me cry with laughter:

I love Miles more every day:

After being inspired by these beauties...

...I made a batch of Easter cupcakes (a la Hummingbird recipe) for our second bake sale. I decorated mine with coconut grass, icing chicks, mini eggs and marzipan carrots - they went down a treat!
I'm still on the lookout for the lavender Tanya Whelan fabric...

and when I do...I'm going to practice my new found sewing skills. I'm going to make one of these deliciously named 'Rompers'. ha ha
