Let some Nashville fake record your demo tapes?

So, this week's pretty much wrapped up. And it was a good one.
Assessment was supposed to have been Thursday, but it got moved to Tuesday because of the tube strike. I wanted to get it out the way, but nevermind.

So I finished my 10 spreads for my Conversation submission:

And for 'Did you notice this?' I've been remaking my objects...since the litter man binned them. ha ha This project is going into the exhibition in 10 days, so I've been making mockups of lightboxes for each of my slides. I think my slides arrived today, but because they're recorded delivery, I'll have to pick them up tomorrow. I'm excited to see how they've turned out! Eeek!
This is my book about the project:

This is my lightbox mockup:

For the workshops with Joao, we were playing with the idea of invisibility in graphics, and how it alters the meaning and perception of the work. I wanted to play with invisibility by using blind embossing and paint finishes...ie: matt on varnish and silkscreening varnish medium over satin, etc. I wanted to take this process and use it to 'reveal' something...so I chose to reveal lyrics I love, as this is about personal taste.
We didn't have to polish our work, but I had fun in the making. These were mockups (hence the misregistering - I forgot the fact the embossed letters and my silkscreening templates had to be the same! Ooops!) but I enjoy them.

I went to the Brighton degree on Wednesday night.
My friend Kyle was exhibiting (www.kylebean.co.uk), and his work was looking great. I also bumped into people I knew from my foundation course - I particularly liked Ben Frogatt's book with all the old photos he'd collected from Snooper's Paradise. Tinhead's work creased me up. With lines such as: "I have many dreams like Arnold" and "You have carrot legs; fat at the thighs and skinny at the ankles", where can that boy go wrong?!?! ha ha

It's Friday, and it's sunny. Time out.
